Ross Canion, Board Member
Ross is a Vice President at OFS where he identifies, evaluates and executes new investments and supports portfolio company initiatives. Prior to OFS, he was a lender at Amegy Bank N.A (“Amegy”) in the corporate energy services group where he underwrote and managed more than $300 million in loans with a focus on leveraged buyouts. Before Amegy, Ross was an Analyst at PRJ Holdings, a San Francisco based family office focused on a buy-and-build strategy in the software sector. Ross serves on the boards of KWI and Terra. He is a member of Young Professionals in Energy and participates on the board of the Houston Private Equity Association. Ross is a founding member of The Society for Leading Medicine at Houston Methodist and is involved with Casa de Esperanza, a Houston-based non-profit. He earned a B.A. in Economics from Southern Methodist University and an M.B.A. from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.
Jared McMayon, Board Member
McMayon is a co-founder and Partner of OFS Energy Fund where he is responsible for identifying and managing energy service private equity investments, supporting portfolio company management and general fund management. Prior to OFS, Jerad was a co-founding Partner of Dorado Energy Partners, a $46.5 million private equity fund formed in 2008 to invest in lower middle market energy service companies. Before Dorado, he was a Vice President at PPHB where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and private-equity transactions for the energy service industry. Prior to PPHB, Jerad was an Associate at McFarland, Grossman & Company where he was involved in merchant banking and financial advisory assignments for lower middle market industrial and energy service businesses. He serves on the boards of Terra Oilfield Services, Bold Production Services, KW International and Rotary Drilling Tools and on the advisory boards of Cadence Bank and Crime Stoppers of Houston. Jerad previously served on the boards of Vision Oil Tools, Dorado Oil Service, Zephyr Gas Services and Terra Midstream. He earned a B.B.A. in Finance with honors from the University of Houston and an M.B.A. from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.
Patrick McGowin, Board Member
McGowin founded TAP to pursue direct investment opportunities and capital formation advisory for privately held operating companies in the Oil & Gas sector. The market need for investors to locate opportunities and for owners to access capital has never been more intense, and cumbersome with the stresses that have occurred in the current financial markets and national economy. McGowin has participated in the capital raising and financing of a multitude of privately held companies over the past 25 years. He has assisted raising in excess of $250 million of various capital over this period.
James has over 15 years of professional oil and gas experience. He grew up in south Louisiana and is the third generation in his family to work in the oilfield. His engineering career began after graduating college from Auburn University with a Civil Engineering degree. He started in the Gulf of Mexico performing MWD/LWD services for Schlumberger. He took the next opportunity to work for an independent oil and gas company in West Africa engineering facilities. He later worked for Ocean Energy/Devon Energy and held completion and production jobs in different basins throughout the US. Prior to TerraOFS, James worked as a drilling manager for an E&P operator managing a staff for a 20+ drilling rig program. James co-founded TerraOFS’ predecessor company in 2010.
Stan has over 15 years of professional oilfield service experience. He started his oilfield service career in 1999 working for Flow Process Technology (FPT), a company that specialized in the design and application of drilling fluid mixing systems and equipment. Stan was eventually recruited to Baker Hughes Drilling Fluids where he was able to complete various industry related courses along with fluids engineering classes for both drilling and completion fluids. Prior to Terra OFS, he served as the Gulf Coast Completion Fluids Manager for Spirit Fluids until Spirit was eventually bought by NOV where he remained another 10 months. Stan co-founded TerraOFS’ predecessor company in 2010.
